About Brotherly Mud
With lush vocal harmonies and commanding compositions stemmed from a true passion for songcraft, Brotherly Mud is the next step in modern Americana music. Lyrically rooted in thoughtful parables, allegories and allusions, Brotherly Mud’s music is equal parts poetry and composition. Presented in a harmonic amalgam of Folk, Classical Impressionist and Bluegrass traditions, this Northern California based group has earned the reputation as a major contender in the resurgence of the late 60s counter-culture musical catalogue-with frequent comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel and CSNY.
Students of literature, culture and music, Brotherly Mud’s cerebral and heartfelt offerings represent their desire for unity, artistic integrity and spiritual awakening. Bassist/writer Daniel Roholt holds degrees from the prestigious Berklee College of Music and Musician’s Institute, with guitarist/writer Seth Grauer holding education from the latter. Drummer/percussionist Will Condrey obtained a history degree from Sacramento State, while mandolinist/guitarist Gabriel Bingham has been a music instructor for the better part of a decade. Often described as one part musical act and one part conversation, Brotherly Mud seeks human connection and is revered in their ability to convey innate truths of life with humor, profundity and direction.
Since their official inception as a live, touring group in the summer of 2018, Brotherly Mud has performed close to 200 concerts, playing alongside Grammy award-winning artists (Amy Helm, Laurie Lewis) and other industry veterans (Hot Buttered Rum, Willy Tea Taylor, Wayne “The Train” Hancock). It is not uncommon to see audience members wipe tears from their eyes as Brotherly Mud reminds them of what it means to share in their humanity.
